     SALESPERSON’S PRE-LICENSING COURSE
    (24 HOURS,  $200.  -  TEXT & MATERIALS INCLUDED)
    This course is designed to provide real estate information to the student and to prepare her/him for the
    Commonwealth of Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson’s Licensing Examination.  The learning model
    employed is a combination of facts, theory and testing practice.

    Content areas include:  Real Property and Ownership; Land-use Controls and Restrictions; Income Taxation
    and Transfer of Title; Valuation and Appraisal; Contracts/Agency and Fair Housing; Financing/Settlements;
    Property Management and Leases; Mathematics of Real Estate; Massachusetts Real Estate Law.

     BROKER’S EXAMINATION PREPARATORY COURSE
    (30 HOURS, $250. – TEXT & MATERIALS INCLUDED)
    This course is designed to prepare the practicing (1 year required) Salesperson for the Commonwealth of
    Massachusetts Broker’s Examination.  Learning methods will include small and large group exercises and
    procedures.

    Content areas include: Current Trends; Property/Property Rights/Ownership;
    Condominiums/Cooperatives/Time Sharing/Land Use – Subdivision; Contracts/ Deeds/Advanced Contracts
    including P & S; Financing/Mortgages; Brokerage; Massachusetts License Law/Ethics; Appraisal; Fair
    Housing/Consumer Protection; Closing Process/Proration – Math Review/Amortization/Deeds; Property
    Management/Insurance – Leases and Options; Commercial Brokerage/Investment/Syndi- cation/Exchanges;
    Massachusetts Real Estate Law.

     CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES   
    (12 HOURS, $100. MATERIALS INCLUDED)
    The Board of Registration of Real Estate has approved 29 Curricular Modules for study by both salespersons
    and brokers for Continuing Education.  From these Modules, 12 hours of study are required every two years.  
    The learning methods for these courses will involve primarily small group and case-study activities.

    Module choices: Seller Agency; Buyer Agency; RE Laws and Regs for Owners and Managers; Chapter
    93A/Consumer Protection; Contract Law; Closing and Settlement; MA Real Estate License Law; Residential
    Rental Agency; General RE Laws, Regs and Practices; Antitrust; Condominiums, Cooperatives and Time
    Shares; Architecture; Selling Historic Homes; Zoning and Building Codes; International Real Estate; Property
    Assessments, Valuation and Taxation; Fair Housing; Lead Paint; ADA; Title V; The Wetlands Protection Act;
    21E; Financing: Appraisal Process; 1031 Exchanges; Foreclosures, Estate Sales, Auctions.
